Mr. Fawcett is Deputy Director, Environment Division in Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. He is responsible for international environmental conventions and agreements, including the Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Montreal Protocol, Biodiversity, Basel Convention on Hazardous Waste and discussion of trade and the environment issues in the WTO and OECD. Mr. Fawcett has held positions as Deputy Director, Multilateral Trade Institutions Division and Departmental Assistant to the Minister of International Trade within the same Department. He also served as Commercial Counsellor at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, DC.
