AB2010 Latest News: The AB2010 regional accessibility forum was created in 1996 for the purposes of ensuring several main things about ITS developments in the greater Bilbao region: First, the various systems and deployments being made under this broad heading are developed on a coordinated basis from a broad regional perspective (rather than brought on line as independent, ad hoc, and almost assuredly sub-optimal implementations). And second, they are planned and implemented not as "interesting technologies" but as instruments that can help the Bilbao region move in steady and rapid steps toward a more sustainable transportation system and a more sustainable way of life.

This is the section of the site where members can turn for the latest information on projects and plans, including preparations for forthcoming Forum meetings but also other related events in the region. It is, in effect, the electronic newsletter of the Forum.

In this regard it is perhaps useful to remind the reader that this is intended as an interactive, participatory site. While it is the responsibility of the AB2010 Technical Secretariat to maintain the site and add in additional content and tools where useful and possible, the goal is that this be a group work tool and environment and that all members will want to join in to make it more complete and more useful to the group as a whole.

Quarterly Newsletter

One of the options that we are considering is using the content of this section and other things that flow into the secretariat as a result of the work on this and the other related projects and programs within the region, and in key locations and projects elsewhere, in order to put out a Quarterly Members Newsletter which will also be sent electronically to each member of the group.

We would like to have your views on this.
