Welcome to ASSIST's international Outreach Programme
This is a fully open public programme which has as its goal to make use of today's free and efficient information society technologies to open up the contents and finding of the on-going ASSIST programme for all who are interested -- as well as to invite and stimulate active external participation in the project itself, including individual inputs and eventual joint projects in the areas of concern of our programme and those of the cooperating groups.

The Outreach Extranet
This important element of the global ASSIST activity package is supported by an open, real-time multi-level Communicaitons Center , complete with its own independent Discussion Forum, Public Library, Links & Media, and Group Calendar.

The Review Process
One of the main goals of this team project is to make our results available as widely and quickly as possible. There are two thoughts behind this choice. First, in the hope that in this way they will be available early to many others who may be able to profit from our experience and findings. But we are also hopeful to see if we can use these good tools in order to gather comments and suggestions for the final reports, and perhaps even stimulate some cooperative projects and creative interaction with other projects and teams that are working in this or related areas. The Outreach programme and this site provide the basic toolkit for achieving this.

Active Participation?

If you are considering participating actively in the Outreach, may we ask you that you first take the time to work your way through the opening sections of this site: the overall User Guidelines. A good next introductory step is the Extranet Communications Guidelines, which provides further background and use hints for the many functions and utilities offered here. Likewise, you will find some possibly useful information in the section entitled Group Work Tools.
