Telework & Telecenters
 "Work Pad" . . . in-process
As new ECFD projects or activities are brought on line, they will initially be sketched out in rough "Work Pad". These consist in many cases at first of no more than a short statement of intent, perhaps filled out by a first few Web sites and other references. The idea in each case is to get the ball rolling and provide an accessible central place to post our thoughts and clues together in each of these areas, so that others can come in with their ideas and suggestions. Within a few weeks, they should be far enough along in their development to be provided to full kit status.
The Concept in Brief
Teleworking is one way to take some of the pressure off the transport system and the environment. Over the last decade a rich background of experience has been developed, and in a number of places an infrastructure of local telecenters has been created.
There are a number of ways in which the telework concept can be usefully integrated to the ECFD events. One of these might be to organize Open Houses in the cooperating local telecenters and invite the public to come in, get a feel for how it works, and perhaps even discuss how they might telework some or all of the time.
We hope to find an experienced lead group or groups to help out in this important activity area.
