ECFD Team Sign-In

It is our hope that all incoming team leaders and collaborators will agree to send on:
- A short personal bio note of some 150-200 agreeably readable words, which puts your career and most immediate antecedents of this cooperative event in a nutshell - with the last 1-3 sentences explaining your intended linkage or contribution to the project.
- A small B&W photo, a head shot in JPG, if possible of less than 10-15k.
- Links to a few past events, projects or publications that in your view are particularly relevant to our project (including a link to your full bio if available).
A sample bio can be viewed here by way of concrete example of the sort of thing we are looking for. As you will see, the approach is quite laid back and intended simply to put names and faces to our world wide collaboration.

B. To access the private team intranet

To join the ECFD team and have access to the reserved forum and communications pipeline, we invite you to fill in the following which will automatically activate your application. Once your application has been processed by the robot, you will within minutes receive an email with the information you need to enter the private parts of the supporting communications and information site. That's all there is to it.
And What If You Can't Get in, or Forgot Your Password?
That's simple. Here's the drill.
- Just enter eGroups home page at http://www.egroups.com
- Where you see, mid-page, the slot to put your email address to register... Don't! Instead click, "Forgot?".
- You then just calmly follow the routine, bearing in mind that it will take about two minutes for the robot to send you via email your 'validation number'. (Be sure to check your email to get it.)
- From there on in, it's quick. Just follow the several instructions and you are back in and fully registered and ready to go.
Thank you for your patience in this. We know that can be trying, but neither did we learn to read over night.

A Closing Word on eGroups
|
|
|
For the last several years we have been using eGroups as the supporting platform for this central communications and information storage function. We chose to do this because we felt they provided good functionality in support of our independent cooperative program, and because it was free (bearing in mind that we carry out all these programs under The Commons without any form of external financial support... so money is scarce). The only shortcoming of this arrangement is the publicity messages and the need to sign in, but this has been judged by most of our colleagues as a bearable inconvenience under the circumstances.
On the other hand, you may have some better ideas for us. We know we can do better and want to hear from you. So if you have leads, free storage space or money to throw at the problem, don't be shy. We're ready to listen.
