Private Sector Clients & Subscribers
The client base is as important for a consultant as it is for anyone who has to maintain an economic activity, most of our assignments coming as they do from groups and people who know us directly from our work and performance.
Long as it is, this is not a complete listing of all the groups that have given us assignments or subscribed to one or more of our multi-client or group projects over the last three decades. It does however give an idea of the basic sectoral mix and the quite wide geographic spread of our work. If you need more specific references, get in touch. (This listing does not include the clients of the Chemicals Research Group which are listed separately in that section of the site.)
Furthermore, and as an indication of the age in which we live and work, you will as you run down the list spot names of groups, often major international companies with many decades of successful business history behind them, that have changed or disappeared in recent years, for the most part as a result of mergers, take-overs or reorganizations in one form or another. It's distressing really when you think about it, from our perspective at least. One way or another our established client base is shrinking every day. Worse, many of our former direct working contacts are leaving their old companies and setting up as consultants, some of them even with continuing success. One day they are our clients, the next they're our competitors. Obviously this is no business for the complacent or lazy. On the other hand, it sure makes for a lively work environment. After all, technology and change is what we do.

Commissioning Public Sector Agencies
The following listing identifies the countries where public sector institutions have made use of our professional capabilities and reports over the years. In some of these more than one public sector agency or institutions has been involved in our work. The gamut runs from agencies concerned with matters of transportation, communications, industry, technology and work organization, and extends to regional policy, cities, environment, energy, education, social affairs, etc., depending on the project. As with our private sector work, however, virtually all of these projects revolve around technology and environmental change, and the problems, opportunities, and pitfalls that they bring in their wake. (If you would like to see an example of such an assignment that is currently in progress, we suggest you have a look at our on-going Access Bilbao project, which is a multi-year effort to bring ITS on line in a sensible way in this city and region of one mil-lion inhabitants.)
Virtually all of these assignments involved extensive international teamwork and close cooperation with the commissioning agencies. Our long term working relationships with these institutions make us more aware of the potential for new public/private partnerships, and in any event of the need for careful attention to both sides when it comes to drawing up a viable plan or action. The fact of our close work with some of the very best international private sector groups, most of whom have a considerably higher sense of urgency and requirement for change than is usually found in public sector institutions, makes us at times a rather exigent partner for the latter. Experience shows that this makes us effective partners where there is a sense of urgency and commitment to getting useful results in a timely manner, if perhaps more trouble that it's worth where the commissioning group or individual is just doing a job.
