Maps & Directions
EcoPlan is located in the historic and very agreeable sixth arrondissement of Paris, a village of sorts which includes the Luxembourg Gardens, many university faculties, and of course the famed historic, artistic and publishing centers.
The area is well served by public transport and taxis, but rather less accessible to private cars (unless you know Paris very well indeed). In the event, there is a large public parking garage at the corner of the Boulevards Montparnasse and Raspail. Your main means of getting around agreeably here is, however, by foot, and you will find that this part of Paris is being made steadily more accessible and agreeable for pedestrians and non-motorized transport (at long last!). Have a look at the way in which they are treating the entry access areas of our local streets. Not bad at all. But only a step in the right direction.

EcoPlan is located at number 8, rue Joseph Bara (our concierge is at the # 10 entrance). The nearest Metro station is Vavin at the storied Montparnasse/Raspail intersection; we are a five minute walk from there.
And to help you prepare your trip and your stay:
- Help in Planning your trip (Expedia)
- Check the current Paris weather forecast here.
- Paris Magazine and events
- A full complement of touristic information will be found here, including details on hotels, restuarants, etc.
- You can find some of the world's smallest video tours of major city landmarks right here. (You will need QuickTime 3.0, and it will help for the commentary if you runderstand French.)
- For a full rundown on museums, cultural events, monuments, special expositions, etc, you may want to start with Paris Culture (in English).
- Getting around Paris. The Paris Metro map can be found here. You'll be able to spot us about 2/3's of the way down the page, right in the middle.
- Afraid of Paris traffic? Maybe you should be. But anyway you can check traffic conditions and even make up a travel itinerary at the Paris Travel site
- For local telephone numbers try the French phone book.
- If you are an experienced and hardy urban cyclist, you may want to consider renting from Roue Libre (but it is not yet very safe). So do watch out, and even better use your feet and public transport.
