Some Favorite Left Bank Hotels

This is dangerous, tastes being what they are, but let me try it anyway. Here is a list of nearby hotels in the Latic Quarter where, were I to be visiting, I would be happy to stay. In each case, be sure to check out prices which can vary wildly. http://hotels.parishotels.com/ is a handy source for this.

The chambre d'hôte, the French version of the bed and breakfast, is gaining ground in the capital's tourist industry. Instead of booking a hotel, visitors reserve a room in a private apartment and get a peak at everyday life in Paris. For tourists comfortable with the idea of sharing someone else's living quarters, a B&B offers numerous advantages over a hotel. A room in a private apartment is usually less expensive than a hotel room of comparable quality. It is also less anonymous since the hosts can provide company and offer advice on anything from buying Métro passes to finding a great bistro. While the average B&B guests stay for a week to 10 days (a minimum stay of three days is usually required), some end up staying for longer periods of time.
