The internet gives us unprecedented opportunities to stay abreast of latest BND developments world wide. This section of the site provides one click overviews of latest BND news items in Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and of course the usual English. Each site is continuously updated by Google. Check it out from time to time. You may be surprised at how much is going on. In each case the search is extended both to the most used local BND term(s) as well as the expression "Buy Nothing Day" (which because of its popularity is often used familiarly even in these other language situations) -- and each is isolated for the language in question. You will note on entering into each search, that the pointer is actually set to reveal all web references to that term over the last year (in some cases more) - with the most often referenced sites up toward the top. We have done this since the "News" search in most cases gets content only in the run-up to BND. But of course all it takes is a simple click to see the latest News for the indicated English/local language pair (noting that the Google results are strongly biased to calling up English language media articles - not least of curse because they tend to have the greater outreach (for now!).) Even if you do not happen to know the language in question, it is I believe interesting to stroll through the references which, if nothing else, certainly suggest that this good idea is getting attention in many parts of the world. And as things move ahead, we will only see more. If you wish to open this up, pleases take note that you have easy one click access to rough machine 'translations' of several of these language groups into 'machine English'. You will see them just to your left for this page. Used with wit and energy they can be very helpful. But please do have a quick look at Translation Help here before you do. It provides some handy use hints.
