This section is intended to serve as the main 'work room' for the Vancouver conference. It will hopefully be a lively and busy place. It is potentially one of the most important and useful parts of this supporting electronic environment, however it is going to require good cooperation all around if it is to achieve its full potential.
It is here where the rapporteurs will be asked to place their reports for their sessions, hopefully within two hours of the session's closure. We should note that given the limited amount of time available, these first reports will most probably be quite short. But what is important is not brute length but that they touch on the main highlights, fairly reflect the variety of views expressed, and that they are made available to both local and distance participants in a timely manner. In this way these people, who after all are valuable meeting resources and who in most meetings have limited opportunity at most to influence the proceedings, can register their suggestions and materials, all of which can in turn be useful for both the individual session and whatever reports as eventually come out of the Conference. Likewise, this provides a valuable opportunity to those who for one reason or another are not able to attend to the physical meeting to join in and add their views and reactions.
