Vancouver is blessed with a beautiful setting. This metropolis
of 1.7 million blends urban sophistication with nature's best.
It offers accessible multi- modal urban transportation facilities:
a rail system, seabuses, electric buses and conventional diesel
buses. If you are new to Vancouver, why don't you check out the
transit sytem schedules
before arriving? Interesting destinations include Canada's largest
city park, Stanley Park, Granville Island's indoor farmers' market,
and the Gastown area with its cobblestone streets and trendy shops.
For more information on Vancouver, go to Vancouver Freenet's Web Site.
The GLOBE 96/OECD Conference Tour Desk located in the lobby of
the Vancouver Trade & Convention Centre (VTCC) will provide
information on Vancouver and on organized tours throughout the
area. During March, Vancouver and surroundings offer exceptional
adventure, sporting, and cultural opportunities. Some of the best
skiing in the world can be enjoyed on Blackcomb and Whistler Mountains.
Vancouver Island offers a host of outdoor activities: fishing,
killer whale watching, hiking, and sea kayaking.
