The car free day idea has been around for just about a full decade now. And if in addition to a certain number of very real achievements here and there, one of the weaknesses of many of the projects that have been tried in most places until very recently is that there have by and large been insufficiently studied and the results not widely shared Over the last year however, this has started to change in a very significant way.

Indeed one of the main goals and eventual accomplishments of Earth Car Free Day 2001 is its strong commitment to this idea of careful analysis of results obtained and then the wide and free sharing of them. In the sections indicated under this brainstorm heading, you will find a certain I number of documents and leads which should be of help to you in preparing your own city projects.

And as we go along, we intend to give this among the very highest of our priorities, as you can see from the What Next section of the site and ECFD work program.
