The principal objective of this project , and indeed all the programs, projects and collaboration behind the New Mobility Agenda, is to do what we can to inspire, create and support very large numbers of well-planned, first class, low carbon, high equity, economically vital transport anywhere in the world. That's our job and this project is part of that job.
What we have tried to pull together for you here is a handy compendium of program information, web sites, links and references that, if you take the time and trouble to examine and put to work, will help you to develop a first class understanding of how these city bike projects are working in a fast growing number of places around the world. We estimate that if you give over anywhere from fifty to one hundred or so hours of concentrated attention to these materials you will have covered the basic ground as far as the general information component is concerned. You will then be ready to start thinking about how all this can best be put to work in your city. And while the information that you find here does not per se take you the necessary extra step - namely that of putting this all together in the framework of a workable program for a full scale, multi-part new mobility system -- we can offer additional sites and counsel that can help you in this, in the event that your city has not yet worked out all the very numerous various bits and pieces for itself. As good a starting point as any on this is our Reinventing Transport in Cities project at http://www.invent.newmobility.org. But now let's have a quick look at what you will find here if you click the two links under this heading in the menu just to your left.
