Only people and places! That's all. And oh yes, a bit of technology, thanks to the World Wide Web. And volunteers all over the place. There are a few people and groups serving as coordinators, but they are, to be truthful, only a minor part of the total landscape. It is the message (sustainable transportation and social justice) and the medium (WWW and the culture that goes with it) that are important now. As the good expression goes: "the nose of the camel is under the tent".
Throguhout this site you will be able to see and learn about the kinds of people and groups from all over the world who are getting together to make their ideas and energy felt this year: cities, bike and walk groups, mayors, sustainable transportation advocates, disabled activists, national environment agencies, teachers, students, children, local business groups, city planners, conservation associations, pedestrian rights associations, museums, churches and other religious groups, human and minority rights groups, clean air campaigners, families, individual citizens ready to take a stand, and... and... you?

Need to know more about any of these?
Go to the ECFD World Database and click the city, country, events or group you are looking for. Check out what is going on in your city or country. You can also try the Search engine to your left.
Like what you see? Get involved!
In addition to all of the above, we are being joined by a steadily growing number of outstanding individual Team Leaders and Sustainability Advocates who are stepping forward to indicate that they share our concerns, feel that the citizen-based "trickle-up" approach has a contribution to make. Many of these fine people are coming in and giving a hand with developing and assisting project ideas in a spheric region, country, city, or action approach. Think of them if you wish as informal ambassadors in the cause of sustainable cities and social justice.
Does your group or program belong here? Do you?
If you have any ideas for us, this is the place to let us know.
The links to your immediate left here provide for those of you who are considering some form of association with this Earth Day project a handy way to make your interest known.
Click here for an example of the kinds of short bio that we are hoping to prepare jointly with each entering partner.
